The Secret's Out!

Fresh Start is to feature in a new episode of the Secret Millionaire, Channel 4's award winning documentary, which will transmit at 9:00 pm on 23 October on Channel 4.

The surprise visit by millionaire Ivan Massow took place during his undercover stay in the area, when he came to the warehouse to hear more about the practical and social support we provide to new tenants.

Each year we are able to help thousands of new tenants, ranging from families to individuals, settle into their homes with the help and support of volunteers and organisations from a broad section of the community.

Ivan Massow donated some of his own money to help support our work after visiting the warehouse and seeing our work at first hand.

Keith Robertson, Director at Fresh Start, said "It's not every day you realise that there's a millionaire volunteering at your charity who wants to donate money to you. So, the staff and volunteers were pretty shocked when the big reveal happened.

"We can't wait until the 23 October to settle down and watch the staff and volunteers on TV. Everyone's quite excited.

"Fresh Start is delighted to have been chosen by Ivan and his substantial donation was a very welcome boost that will be used to continue our work helping people who've been homeless settle into a new home."

Fresh Start can be seen in the new series of Secret Millionaire on Sunday 23 October, 9 pm on Channel 4.

Thanks and goodbye to the Eco Zone

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Sharon Wilkinson and Pat Hope who have worked tirelessly promoting Fresh Start in the Eco Zone for the last year.

Their help has ensured Fresh Start’s profile has been raised in new circles, most notably within their own company Scottish Hydro who generously donated electrical goods to us last year.

The Eco zone closes on the 26th of August.  Sharon is pictured with Keith, Brian and Sid who collected goods that were donated in the shop.
